Enatis takes part in setting up a Swiss e-ID
In the digital age, secure identification of cyberspace users is becoming an essential issue for facilitating and making transactions in the digital world more reliable.

However, it is the State’s role to certify a person’s identity. To this end, the Federal Council wants to give every Swiss resident the possibility of obtaining a digital identity recognised by the State (e-ID).
The e-ID will be the digital counterpart of our passports and identity cards.
On 1st June 2018, the Federal Council adopted a dispatch to Parliament to this effect:

In parallel with the parliamentary debates to be held this autumn, the Federal Department of Justice and Police – fedpol – has been made responsible for developing and implementing the technical solutions and organisations required to have a working solution when the law comes into force.
Philippe Lorenz received fedpol’s trust to lead this large-scale project. It is a strategic fedpol project, affecting different departments of the Confederation and different stakeholders of the economy.
The project is conducted according to the Confederation’s directives and the Hermes methodology.
We are delighted with the trust shown by the Swiss Confederation, the result of our proven experience in other large-scale strategic projects.
